WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO SEE?
First Edition [1963] of The Bell Jar – one of only 2000 copies printed & which was published under the pseudonym Victoria Lucas [Plath’s name wouldn’t appear on a copy of The Bell Jar until Faber’s 1966 edition – three years after her death]
Proof copy of Colossus [1960] – copies were disseminated to various reviewers & booksellers in advance of the final publication of this, Plath’s very first collection of poetry
Limited Edition Small Press publications – issued by Ted Hughes [Plath’s husband] in the years after her death, these slim booklets include between one & three previously unpublished poems, handcrafted & printed in very small numbers [between 100 & 450 copies]
Numerous copies of Ariel, Plath’s most famous collection – first issued in 1965, this collection epitomises Plath at the height of her craft & we have multiple First Printings, plus early reprints to display [& for you to own]
AND MORE!!
It is not hyperbole for us to suggest you are highly unlikely to get the opportunity to view this level of material by this iconic author ever again, let alone here in Adelaide!
