• South Australian Hansards began in 1857/1858. They were not printed for the years 1863 and 1864 due to a reporting dispute. A copy of the newspaper reports of debates for this period was compiled [with separate indexes] and is held in the Mortlock Library. [NLA – Trove]
• Sir Henry Ayers [1821-1897] was Premier on five [brief] occasions between 1863 & 1873 & was later appointed President of the Legislative Council [1881-1893]
• His first stint as Premier ended midway through this session of Parliament [August 4th, 1864]
