*Comstock was found shot in his house in 2007 amongst his 50,000 volume collection. No-one was ever charged with his murder although his daughter accused her mother, Alberta [the Comstocks had acrimoniously split a couple years earlier and were embroiled in a financial dispute at the time of his murder], and took her to civil court. Alberta Comstock died in 2013.
