  • Beautiful set in contemporary full calf; duodecimo [13cm x 8.5cm]; printed for Martin & Bain [London, 1794]; early 19C ownership inscription to all volumes; frontispiece in each volume* except vol 1[portrait of Pope presumed erroneously bound in Vol 5] & vol 8 [presume as issued – Notes & Commentaries volume]; all with tissue guards except vol 3.
  • vol 8 with two fold-outs: (i) two maps, Graecia Homerica & Phrygia [some tears and creasing without loss]; (ii) engraving of Troy [very good condition]

*All plates have exact date of printing ranging from 20 March, 1794 [vol 2] to 19 July, 1794 [vol 7]. Two plates have been inserted as frontispieces for vol 5 and both [portrait of Pope + Odyssey Vol I] are dated 31 May, 1794.
