Are your books new or second-hand?
Both! Our books are selected across the spectrum of brand new, used & collectible/antiquarian items.
Most of our pre-loved books are in excellent/giftable condition [or major faults will be noted].
Shabbier copies are usually put on the sale shelf.

Do you buy books from people?
Yes – we are always looking for great stock for the shop.

Do you accept donations?
Yes! We gratefully accept any donations dropped in-store during opening hours.

• other paper ephemera
• bags

Are you still accepting bags?
Yes! We gratefully accept & reuse clean bags of any size/material dropped in-store during opening hours. Thank you!

I’m financially comfortable & love your shop – can I donate cash money to you?

Will you stock my self-published/indie book?
If you have self-published your book [paid for it to be printed/published] then unfortunately we don’t have the resources to consider it at this stage.
PLEASE DON’T EMAIL DETAILS/SEND COPIES OF YOUR BOOK [the volume we receive is overwhelming].

We are not currently accepting applications – if/when we do, it shall be promoted through our community

In the meantime, tell everybody you know to shop independent & local for their books to support jobs in the industry. Every book bought from online megastores reduces the capacity for local bookshops to employ local people.
