Description

  • The most collectible standard issue Harry Potter book aside from the Philosopher’s Stone first printings
  • Errington states only 5,150 copies of the First Edition of Azkaban were printed, with an estimated 2,500 of these being this First State issue [with significant printing error as described below]
  • When review copies were sent out the first page read “enjoyed being burned so much” but this was deemed an Americanisation so burned was changed to burnt. However, this also resulted in an erroneous Enter mark being introduced and the line was split on these initial printings!
  • First Edition [Bloomsbury, London, 1999]; 317pp; pictorial boards, spine base v. gently bumped, slight lean, name on ffep, a near-fine copy; in excellent unclipped [£10.99] dustjacket replicating artwork on boards, edges rubbed, spine sunfaded [see photos as this is the only significant fault]; ISBN: 0 7475 4215 5 / 0747542155
  • FIRST STATE PRINTING [Joanne Rowling on copyright; dropped line at burnt on opening page; no ads at rear] of the third instalment of the Harry Potter series
  • With neat name in pen to ffep of literary critic Katharine England
  • We also have a copy of the Third State currently available
